Temperature rise, ice build-up and door problems

Coolroom faults usually show as a room that won't come down to temperature, ice forming on the evaporator or floor, water pooling, or doors that don't seal. Freezer rooms are particularly sensitive to door heater and defrost faults.

  • Room running warm or alarming
  • Ice on the evaporator coil, ceiling or floor
  • Water dripping or pooling
  • Door not sealing or frozen shut
  • Condensing unit running constantly

Refrigeration and control fault diagnosis

We check the controller and sensors, evaporator fans and defrost, the condensing unit, electrical components and the refrigerant circuit. Door seals and closers are checked too, since warm air leaking in causes many coolroom problems.

Compressors, fans, defrost heaters and controllers

Common coolroom repairs include replacing evaporator fan motors, defrost heaters, controllers and sensors, fixing refrigerant leaks and replacing compressors. Door seals and frame heaters are also frequent repairs on freezer rooms.

Repair planning, parts and operating checks

We quote the repair and confirm part availability. Where stock is at risk, tell us so we can plan around it. After the repair we check the room pulls down to temperature and holds it.

Preventative servicing and remote monitoring

Regular servicing catches worn fans, blocked drains and failing seals early. Wireless temperature monitoring can alert you if the room drifts out of range, so you know before stock is affected.

FAQ

Common questions

More answers on our FAQ page.

Why is my coolroom not holding temperature?

Common causes are a door not sealing, an iced evaporator from a defrost fault, a failed fan, a dirty condenser, a controller fault or low refrigerant from a leak. Keep the door closed and contact us with the details.

What can cause repeated ice build-up?

Usually a defrost fault, warm air leaking in through door seals, or a blocked drain. Repeated icing is a sign the cause hasn't been fixed, and we'll look for it.
