Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about our services, systems and bookings. Can't find what you need? Call or send us a message.
Air conditioning
How often should my air conditioner be serviced?
Once a year for most homes, ideally before summer. Commercial systems and units in dusty or heavy-use areas usually need servicing every three to six months.
What size air conditioner do I need?
It depends on the room size, ceiling height, insulation, windows and sun exposure. We do an on-site measure and heat load calculation so the system isn't too small to keep up or too big to run efficiently.
Split system or ducted: which is better?
A split system is the best value for one or two rooms. Ducted suits whole-home comfort with hidden units and zone control. A multi-split is a middle ground when you want a few rooms covered from one outdoor unit.
Why is my air conditioner not cooling properly?
Common causes are blocked filters, a dirty coil, a refrigerant leak or a failing fan or sensor. Turn it off and give us a call: running a system that's low on gas can damage the compressor.
Do you service all brands?
Yes. Our technicians install, service and repair all major brands of split, ducted, cassette and commercial systems.
Heat pumps
Is a heat pump the same as reverse-cycle air conditioning?
Yes. A reverse-cycle air conditioner is an air-to-air heat pump. It heats in winter and cools in summer using the same unit.
Can a heat pump replace my gas heating?
In most Victorian homes, yes. Modern heat pumps heat well in cold weather and usually cost less to run than gas. We can assess your home and suggest the right mix of split, multi-split or ducted units.
Are there rebates for heat pumps in Victoria?
Some homes and businesses may be eligible for government incentives on heat pump heating and hot water. Eligibility changes, so ask us when you request a quote and we'll point you to the current schemes.
Refrigeration & ventilation
Do you build and service cool rooms?
Yes. We design, install and maintain walk-in cool rooms and freezer rooms, plus display and storage refrigeration for food, retail and hospitality.
What is heat recovery ventilation?
A heat recovery ventilation system brings in fresh air and passes it through a heat exchanger with the stale air going out, so you get fresh air without losing most of the heat or cooling you've paid for.
Can you help with commercial kitchen exhaust?
Yes. We install and service kitchen exhaust and make-up air systems, as well as general exhaust and fresh-air systems for offices, warehouses and car parks.
Booking & quotes
How do I get a quote?
Fill in the quote form on our website, call us or send an email with a few details about the job. We'll get back to you with a quote or to book a site visit.
Are your technicians licensed and insured?
Yes. Our team holds the refrigerant, plumbing and electrical licences needed for air conditioning and refrigeration work, and every job is covered by public liability insurance.
Which areas do you cover?
We work across Melbourne and regional Victoria. Get in touch with your suburb and we'll confirm.
Do you work with builders and facility managers?
Yes. We take on design and contracting for new builds, fit-outs and upgrades, and planned maintenance contracts for commercial sites, schools and government facilities.
