Home Air Conditioning Service & Maintenance in Melbourne

A regular service keeps your system clean and working efficiently, and picks up small faults before they turn into breakdowns.

Overview

Air conditioning service & maintenance for your home

Airmax services split and ducted air conditioning in Melbourne homes. A service covers the filters, coils, drain, airflow and electrical and operating checks. We tell you what we found and recommend any repairs before doing them.

We work across Melbourne and regional Victoria. Every job starts with a written quote.

  • Filter cleaning
  • Indoor coil, fan and drain checks and cleaning
  • Outdoor unit inspection and coil check

  • Cooling and heating performance checks
  • Findings and recommendations after the visit

  • Multi-split systems
  • Ducted reverse-cycle systems

What a service includes for split and ducted systems

For a split system, we clean the filters, check and clean the indoor coil and fan, clear the drain and check the outdoor unit. For a ducted system, we also check the return-air filter, the indoor unit in the roof space, and the airflow at the outlets.

Both finish with an operating check in cooling and heating.

Filters, coils, drains, airflow and operating checks

Dirty filters and coils reduce airflow and make the system work harder. A blocked drain causes water leaks. Worn electrical connections and tired capacitors cause breakdowns. A service covers all of these, along with the temperature of the air coming out, which tells us whether the system is doing its job.

  • Filters cleaned
  • Indoor coil and fan checked and cleaned
  • Drain and tray cleared
  • Outdoor coil checked for dirt and debris
  • Electrical connections and controls checked
  • Supply air temperature measured

How often to service

How often a system needs servicing depends on how much it runs, the environment and its condition. A system that runs most days, or sits near dust, trees or the coast, needs attention more often than one used a few weeks a year. Filters should be cleaned more often than a full service, and you can do that yourself.

We'll suggest a service interval based on how you use your system.

Service findings and recommended repairs

If we find something that needs repair, such as a worn fan motor, a weak capacitor or signs of a refrigerant leak, we tell you what it is, why it matters and what it would cost to fix. You decide whether to go ahead.

Seasonal preparation

Booking a service before summer means the system is ready when the first hot days arrive. If you use your system mainly for heating, a service before winter makes more sense, and our heating service page covers what we check. If the system already has a fault, book air conditioning repairs instead.

FAQ

Common questions

More answers on our FAQ page.

How often should my system be serviced?

It depends on how much you use it and the conditions it runs in. Heavily used systems, and those near dust or trees, need it more often. We'll recommend an interval after the first service. Clean the filters yourself between services.

What is included in a service?

Filter cleaning, indoor coil, fan and drain checks, outdoor unit inspection, electrical checks and a test run in cooling and heating. We tell you what we found and recommend any repairs.

Do you clean ducts?

Duct cleaning isn't part of our standard service. We check airflow at the outlets and the return-air filter, and we repair or replace damaged ductwork.
